I have wider skills, knowledge and qualifications which I have gained through my previous and current employment. It has been of great influence and assistance to the local community which have been recognised and appreciated widely throughout the UK and abroad. I made positive impacts within the various communities through volunteering and in the management of voluntary organisations. My first involvement as a Director with the THHFC in East London. I worked with the Tameside MBC, Rochdale Council and Oldham Council with a senior role.
I’m founder director of Credit Union in Hyde and trustee of Croft Millennium Trust. At present I am Director of “TIA Training & Advice Centre” and “Action Together”. Furthermore, I've successfully obtained funding from various organisation I worked for. I was also a regional news representative for Euro Bangla, Channel S and TV Presenter ATN Bangla. In 2004-2010 I've successfully run Immigration Law Practice across the North West and London.
I have carried out an action research project for Tameside MBC to look into issues affecting the community. I was involved in production of documentary video project called “Catering for whom?” and translated a poetry book called “Untold words” published in 1996.
2007-2011, I interviewed 50 participants of the oral history project and I have given support to the volunteers to do the recordings, editing, transcriptions, translations and finally the publication of it all. 50 documentaries have been produced and archived.
In 2000, written & published a history book called “Bangladeshis in Great Britain”. I’m editor of “Setu Bandhan” published occasionally by the TIA. I published a book called “Life in the UK Test Guide” in 2007; “History of Bangladeshis in Greater Manchester” written and published in 2013.
I received various Awards such as Channel S Community Award, Oldham Chronicle Pride in Oldham Award in 2003, Writers Award in 2013, SEFC Award in 2014 and Mayor’s Appreciation Award 2015.
